  • How does Social Dot work?
    Social Dot utilizes NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to share your digital business card.By tapping your Social Dot device against a compatible smartphone, your contact information and links are instantly shared, facilitating seamless networking.
  • Does Social Dot need Wifi to work?
    No, you do not need WIFI for Social Dot to work. However, the person that is tapping to your Social Dot will need to some form of internet connection to access the shared information.
  • Does it work through my phone case?
    Yes, Social Dot functions through most phone cases, including those that hold credit cards. However, cases with metal backings may interfere with the NFC signal.
  • Does my social dot need charging?
    No, your Social Dot will never need charging. They are designed for continuous use without the need for power. However, you should avoid exposing your Social Dot to magnets, as they can damage the internal antenna.
  • Can I update my information after setting up my Social Dot?
    Absolutely!You can update your profile information at any time through your Social Dot account.These changes are reflected instantly, ensuring your contacts always have your latest details.
  • Does the Social Dot need to be placed on my phone?
    No not at all, don't limit yourself or your business by just placing it on your phone. Think counter tops, laptops, cars, desks, registers, dining tables, the list goes on!
  • Does the person I’m tapping need a Social Dot too?
    Not at all, once they have tapped it will open an internet browser tab that will store all of your Social Dot information.
  • How long does Social Dot last?
    Social Dot will last as long as you take care of it! As long as its damage free and doesn’t take a trip through the washing machine, it will last as long as you have your Social Dot member page.
  • Can I link apps or just websites?
    Yes you can link apps, you just need to go to the App Store or google play, select the app that you which to have linked to your Social Dot, copy the link and add it onto your Social Dot.
  • Can I control multiple Social Dots for my staff?
    Yes! you can add multiple Social Dots to the one account for Admin/HR to control/monitor. For more information about corporate orders contact us at hello@socialdot.com.au.
  • Social Dot not working on iPhone?
    iPhone 7 to X will require NFC to be activated in the control centre (similar to WiFi or Bluetooth). All IPhones will tap in the top centre of the phone. Please note - Do not tap to magnets as this will damage the antenna
  • Social Dot not working on Android?
    Some Android phones will require NFC to be activated in the settings (similar to WiFi or Bluetooth). Androids will tap towards the centre of the phone. Please note - Do not tap to magnets as this will damage the antenna
  • Where to stick Social Dot?
    Social Dot is best stuck towards the bottom of the back oh the phone, it is recommended to test the location before sticking to confirm your phone isn't picking up the signal. Please note - Do not tap to magnets as this will damage the antenna.

  • Can I have custom logos on my Social Dot?
    Yes! you can - we need a minimum of 10 orders to complete this and will need design work sent prior to printing. Contact us at hello@socialdot.com.au for more information.
